1-2 Months
able to suck and swallow
startled by loud noise
pays attention to faces nearby
3-4 Months
holds head up well
holds a rattle and smiles
shows gains in height and weight
4-6 Months
smiles at others
reaches for and grasps objects
moves toys from hand to hand
rolls from tummy to back and back to tummy
6-9 Months
sits up without help
babbles and laughs out loud
plays peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake
creeps or crawls forward on tummy by moving arms and legs
9-12 Months
pulls to a stand
waves "bye-bye"
picks up small objects
12-15 Months
drinks from a cup
takes turns rolling a ball
comes when called by name
15-18 Months
walks without help
looks at picture books
tries to talk and repeat words
likes to push, pull and dump things
18-24 Months
gives hugs and kisses
follows simple directions
uses 2 or 3 word sentences
carries objects while walking
24-30 Months
can eat without help
runs well, with few falls
turns door knob, unscrews jars
holds a crayon, likes to scribble
30 Months or Older
sings simple songs
