The Father & Family Network of Rhode Island
Vision

The Father and Family Network of RI envisions a world where society understands that fathers and mothers must share equally in supporting and nurturing children and families – and so fathers and mothers have equal access to the necessary education, advocacy and resources. In our vision, society respects and values the critical role that both fathers and mothers play in creating happy, healthy, and successful children and families.

Mission

The Father and Family Network enhances the capacity of service providers and their employees to develop and deliver fatherhood programs to Rhode Islanders. As a membership organization – both individuals and organizations – the Network carries out its mission through the following strategies:

· Increasing competency of its members by sharing information and best practices, offering new ideas, and learning together;
· Providing opportunities to build collaborations;
· Offering peer support and mentoring;
· Affecting public policy;
· Serving as an information and referral source for inquiries regarding fatherhood initiatives; and,
· Affiliating with regional and national fatherhood initiatives.

Organizing to do business

· Corporate Structure

The Father and Family Network of RI (referred to as the Network) is an unincorporated entity located within the RI Parent Information Network (RIPIN). RIPIN provides the legal corporate structure for the Father and Family Network, and RIPIN serves as the fiscal agent and IRS 501(c)(3) agent for the Network. The Steering Committee of the Network serves as an independent advisory committee.

· Membership in the Network

Membership is open to organizations, individuals affiliated with organizations, and unaffiliated individuals. For all of us, there is a desire to work toward involving fathers actively in the lives of their children and families for greater and more successful outcomes.

Activities of the Network

In an effort to continue to share best practices and networking opportunities to all Rhode Island providers who work toward successful outcomes for fathers, we offer the following activities:
