This is a group created by and for families of children with special needs and includes online support and informal gatherings of parents.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch, blanket or lawn chair for comfort.
If you would like to attend, RSVP by July 29, 2010 to Barbara Torres at 401.270.0101 x110 or torres@ripin.org

RIPIN and partners rolled out the new Family Leadership Development Institute
(FLDI) to a crowd ofover 280 people at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Warwick on May 19th.

A diverse group of parent leaders, educators, state policy makers, and healthcare providers came out to the
Family Leadership Luncheon to learn more about this new initiative. FLDI’s goal is to develop a network of family leaders in Rhode Island to make a positive impact on schools, communities and in health care arenas.

FLDI will offer workshops, training, support, and networking opportunities.

FLDI is a collaborative initiative of RIPIN, Parent Support Network of RI, Sherlock Center on Disabilities, RI Association of Community Health Workers, RI Department of Health, RI Deparmtent of Human Services, RI Department of Education, and the RI Department of Children, Youth and Families.
All summer long RIPIN will continue to offer the information you need to help yourself and your family. These convenient “after work hours” workshops will be held onsite at our new Cranston facility.
Join us and keep learning and growing all summer long … some of the workshops on tap include College Success for Students with Disabilities, The Right Question, Homework & Study Skills, and The Successful IEP Meeting.
