Family Health Parent Consultant Program RIPIN trains, supervises and employs Parent Consultants who are familiar with the Department of Health and associated programs. These Parent Consultants assist families with locating services, information and resources regarding WIC, Disability and Health, Lead Poisoning Prevention, SSDI, Immunization Benefits, Genetics and Adolescent Health for their children. In addition to helping families of very young children locate the services they need, our Parent Consultants also work closely with Department of Health personnel to ensure family-centered practices. Families of children who have special health care needs, chronic illnesses and/or physical disabilities receive health information, training, support and guidance through this local and national network of families and friends. Parent Information and Resource Center “PIRC” PIRC staff works with families, schools and providers to better understand a child’s developmental stages and milestones, create strategies for behavioral and academic success and to otherwise help families build community relationships to support their child’s growth and development.
