To join the RIPIN workshop volunteer team…
You: Have an interest in teaching adults and working with parents. Enjoy learning new things. Feel comfortable speaking in front of others. May already have some knowledge about a variety of parenting topics not required but helpful.
RIPIN: Provides comprehensive training to help you do your best as a volunteer presenter. Topics in our “Train the Trainer” series include: breaking the ice, getting to know your audience, effective communication, handling difficult questions and others. Once trained in the basics of making presentations, volunteers receive one-on-one training in each topic area of their choice. Each volunteer receives ongoing support from a staff or volunteer mentor. Opportunities are available for those wishing to co-teach workshops before going it alone. A small stipend is also available to help defray the costs of travel to and from workshop locations across the state.
Volunteers must be willing to present a minimum of 2-3 workshops per year, complete and return all required paperwork, and maintain an inventory of RIPIN-provided training supplies.
